 SEND
has planted about 70 churches in the greater Tokyo
area since 1947, and we have joined a team of
40+ missionaries there. After a six-week of intensive
Japanese language study in November/December 2006,
we started our ESL (English as a second language)
ministry at Chuo
Christ Gospel Church in Higashi Yamato city,
part of the the greater Tokyo area.
There is a great demand in
Japan for instruction in conversational English
and SEND offers English classes through many of
their churches. ESL gives us the opportunity to
meet many people and help them improve their English
skills. At Chuo Church each English session concludes
with a Bible lesson, giving us an open door to
present the Gospel. We pray that God will continue
to bless our ministry as we build redemptive relationships
with the Japanese people so that they may come
to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
